Mixcloud : rethinking Radio

Mixcloud

What is Mixcloud ?

Quite simply, Mixcloud helps connect radio content to listeners more effectively. Mixcloud is re-thinking radio by joining the dots between radio shows, Podcasts and DJ mixes. We refer to them as Cloudcasts - audio shows that are stored in the "cloud" and available to be streamed on-demand.

What is a Cloudcast and how is it different to a Podcast ?

A Cloudcast is an extended audio show that is hosted in the "cloud", in other words hosted somewhere centrally on the Internet rather than on your local hard-drive. Therefore, unlike Podcasts, Cloudcasts can be enjoyed via on-demand streaming without any waiting required.

Cloudcasts are easy to create and upload - no fiddly RSS and XML to worry about (if that means anything to you!). And because they're stored in the cloud, there is a lot more interesting data to play with - who's listening to what, where in the world they are, how long they listen for and so on. This allows us to do a much better job recommending other Cloudcasts to you.

Mixcloud is currently invite only. Sign-up directly if you have an invite code, otherwise go to the home page to get your name on the invite list.

Bantam : social CRM

Bantam : Social CRM

Bantam is an online service for business teams to collaborate in a workspace and build business relationships across the web.

Users can share information, track activity, and manage contact and company relationships inside and outside the organization. Status updating, commenting, messaging, and interacting with social network contacts and content weave purposefully into business workflows (contact management, social CRM engagement and workflows, task management, calendaring, deal tracking, project management).

Integrated to Twitter and soon other social networks, Bantam Live also allows a business team to search, monitor, and connect with people across the web for business development, sales, and marketing purposes.

Subscribed today and I was quit impressed with the UI and intuitive design. The only thing I always notice with online cms tools : you can't edit properly notes, posts or tasks. Why doesn't anyone think about using a simple html editor with bold, underline etc....
A user manageable link-list (to other sites) would also be nice to have.

By the way, they've announced mote features for project management AFTER thebeta version !! Looking forward !!

Bing : the attack of Microsoft on Google

Bing : Microsofts Search Engine

One month into the life of Bing, Microsoft's revamped search engine, the industry is buzzing over initial promising usage statistics and market share claims. Yet others are more cautious, suggesting that short-term usage stats do not necessarily equate with a change in consumer behavior and long-term market share gain.

Bing has increased Microsoft's share of the search market by 1 percent in the US according to analysis for June conducted by Web analytics firm StatCounter. Microsoft had 8.23% market share in June, behind Yahoo at 11.04%.

comScore has released a follow up study on the performance of Bing, Microsoft's new search engine, during the second week of its public launch. The results show that Microsoft has continued to increase its position in the search market following the initial week of Bing's debut.
